Model Portraits | Crystal Lake
I am a graphic designer, but at my place of employment (also my husband’s!) I do a majority of the photography, especially on-location in-use photography of our products. Erik is the senior videographer. I shoot in use product photography while they do the same with video.
This particular shoot was for a wide array of pneumatic air tools. A co-worker had an in with a mechanic who restores cars for a living. We did our shoot at his professional garage. At one point, he was joking about getting a model to come in to be the actress. Or at least, we thought he was – until Kat showed up one day during our filming.
She was really nice and very funny, and easy to talk to. I mentioned briefly about how I wanted to practice portraits with models but didn’t have any, and one thing lead to another. Before you know it, we were doing a quick impromptu photo shoot in the garage while the boys were cleaning up the video equipment since the shooting day was over. It was fun! We have been trying to set up an actual shoot. She has a ton of really creative, unique ideas for portraits. She is a great model and I think I will be disappointed if in the end we don’t get to collaborate again together.
